Kickstarter is a great place to find out about innovative developments for cycling products.

Some of the products on Kickstarter make bold claims that do not stand up to scrutiny. It is not only unfair to those who do bother to back up their claims, it is outright deceiving and dangerous for the users. Many of the products are marketed as safety equipment, but have not been properly tested, let alone certified.
